Live-action ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Movie Trailer

The upcoming Rupert Sanders’ live-action movie Ghost in the Shell gets its a new trailer, and whether you’re a fan of manga or anime, the futuristic film looks something to get excited about.

There’s been a a fair bit of criticism of Scarlett Johansson playing Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg law enforcement officer, with producer Steven Paul responding by downplaying the Japanese themes in the movie. Watching the trailer, one does get the feeling that fans’ concerns aren’t going to be appeased when they see kanji signage on the streets.

The film hits theatres on March 31, so we’ll just have to wait and see if it can rise above the concerns and be a fitting tribute to the manga fanchise.
